With a bold slope stretching toward the green, Hole 8 is not only strikingly beautiful—it carries a dignified presence. That beauty begins at the serene island tee set within a peaceful pond. From this vantage point, golfers cannot see the wide fairway that extends to the left, where 8 of Blackstone’s 82 bunkers lie hidden throughout the landscape. This can create a psychological challenge, but for those who study the course carefully, there’s a hidden charm in navigating past the target bunkers—it’s a hole full of clever surprises. After a successful, dynamic play through Hole 8, golfers are rewarded with a “magic show” as a special gift for their efforts. If you hole out and turn around, you’ll notice something astonishing—the maze of bunkers you just escaped will seem to have disappeared altogether. To conquer this hole, start with a long, straight drive that avoids the short and long bunkers on the right. Then choose between two strategies for your second shot: For a safer route, go for a long second shot toward the left fairway, which leads gently to the green side but deep bunker. For the bold and adventurous, a second shot over the cross-shaped bunker complex and to the right of the tree offers a more aggressive line—though it sets up a far more challenging approach.
